“You’ll find out when we get to game time,” coach Gary Patterson said, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.

According to the Star-Telegram, the Horned Frogs depth chart released late Tuesday night didn’t include defensive end James McFarland or cornerback DeShawn Raymond.

That could be a clue, given that McFarland — who has been dogged by foot problems — led the team with seven sacks in 2014, a season he capped by being the defensive MVP of the Peach Bowl, and Raymond, although a true freshman, is a four-star recruit who enrolled early to participate in spring drills.

Raymond said he needed to “get back right” early in fall camp, but it’s unclear what he meant by that on his Twitter feed.

Patterson said a handful of defensive players have been nursing injuries this fall but added that Minnesota coach Jerry Kill “knows enough already” about the Horned Frogs without TCU divulging the specific players who’ll miss the opener.
