Hockey Canada announced its final 25-man roster that will participate in the tournament taking place in Edmonton. While there are plenty of familiar names, Canada is lacking some of its true star power it had in December when the games originally were slated to take place.

Notable names that are not participating in the competition in August are forwards Cole Perfetti, Jake Neighbours, Dylan Guenther and Shane Wright, as well as defensemen Owen Power and Kaiden Guhle. All are either  holding out in preparation for the upcoming NHL season, where they all have a chance at making their clubs out of camp, or dealing with injuries.

However, there are still talented players on the roster, including Connor Bedard, Mason McTavish, Kent Johnson and Sebastian Cossa, and Canada should once again be one of the best teams at the World Juniors.
