RELATED: Red Dead Online: 10 Best Weapons (& How To Get Them)

There are a handful of weapons that are straight redesigns of an already existing weapon in the game; and more often than not, they look cooler and have better cosmetic attributes than their original counterpart. Here are some of the best reskins in the game:

10 The AWPer Hand

In a wacky and animated game like TF2, a realistic-looking military-grade bolt-action rifle such as the AWPer Hand really stands out. The weapon is directly inspired by the AWP Rifle from Counter-Strike. Not only does it look more powerful, but it sounds more powerful too. Some players even deviate more towards the stock Sniper Rifle since the AWPer shots are so loud. If you’re wearing headphones, you may be able to feel it go “bang!” as well. Nonetheless, every detail of the AWPer from the folded bipod to the cartridge shows serious business.

9 The Rainblower

The Rainblower is a My Little Pony-esque redesign of the flamethrower. When this weapon is equipped, some TF2 maps get reskinned for the user’s perspective. Instead of torching enemies and wreaking agonizing havoc on the enemy team, this weapon spreads love, friendship, and magic. No more screams of pain and suffering as happiness and laughter fill the air! With the rainbow-blasting, bubble-blowing, musical wonder that is the Rainblower, spreading joyous cheer has never been easier.

8 The Original

Unlike the other reskins, the Original has one added minor functionality – it fires from the center of the screen rather than from the right. Styled after the rocket launcher from the classic shooter Quake, the weapon deserves the title of “The Original.”

Taking that call-to-the-past a step further, the weapon appears in the bottom center of the HUD like many other classic shooters. Some Soldier mains gravitate towards this weapon because of the debatable conveniences firing from the center brings to the table.

7 Mutated Milk

One of the best weapons in the game gets even better with this reskin! The Mutated Milk has a lore creature enclosed in a test-jar filled with non-milk substance. The Mutated Milk is also much bigger than the Mad Milk, so much so that the Scout holds it overhead as opposed to holding it like a drink. In addition, anyone who is directly hit with the jar would have a purely cosmetic bread monster latched onto their head like a Half-Life head crab.

6 The Batsaber

The Batsaber is a cross between a Bat and a Star Wars Lightsaber. The Scout melee weapon has team-colored glow effects, and makes unique sounds when swung. Though it may not slice enemies, walls, and floors clean through, it has really cool disintegration effects when killing adversaries.

Even as a stock variant, the Batsaber is one of the most expensive weapons in the game. At the time of this writing, it costs 15 keys. That takes about 14,400 common weapons to smelt together through in-game crafting or marketplace trading.

5 The Conscientious Objector

The Conscientious Objector is a sign used as a melee weapon for all classes except the Engineer and the Spy. A player can use the Decal Tool to apply unique logos on the sign. By default, the weapon bears a white-on-white TF2 logo. Since TF2 is a community-driven game filled with memes and wackiness, there is no end to what players can do with the Conscientious Objector. Oftentimes, Heavies would go around trade servers waving the sign bearing a community meme, or the very common hammer-and-sickle.

4 The Frying Pan

Before Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds was even developed, Team Fortress 2 already had a Frying Pan melee weapon which players to this day still love. The Frying Pan is a loud annoying weapon that is incredibly audible on impact, be it against a wall or an enemy’s skull.

The loud sound it produces is such an earsore that players use it as a meme weapon. TF2 YouTubers have also made hyperbolic jokes regarding the Pan’s loud hit sounds. Despite this, it is satisfying to get a critical hit kill with this item since the death screams of the victim harmonize with the iron-cast skillet’s loud hit sounds.

3 Saxxy

The Saxxy is a trophy that is used as an all-class reskin melee weapon. The weapon retains the class-specific functions attributed to their original melee weapons, so Engineers can still repair their creations with the Saxxy, and Spies can still instakill backstab with it. In addition to this, any enemy killed with a Saxxy has its corpse turned into a statue of gold.

What’s even more interesting is how this weapon is earned. TF2 awards Saxxys to winners of their annual Saxxy Awards filmmaking event, much like how Grammys, Emmys, Oscars, and Golden Globes are awarded. Not only is this trophy a dapper reskin, but it is also a rare and prestigious one that cannot be traded. So, if someone on a server is holding a Saxxy, chances are, he’s a really good director and animator.

2 The Sharp Dresser

The Sharp Dresser is a well-fitted Hidden Blade for the Spy. It is an Assassin’s Creed inspired weapon that takes inspiration directly from the iconic Hidden Blade. When the weapon is pulled out, the blade extends from the Spy’s sleeve instantly, just as the Hidden Blade does. As a sneaky class that could one-hit kill from behind, the Sharp Dresser is the perfect reskin for the Spy’s knife.

The iconic hood worn by Assassins is also in the game, so if you’re wanting to turn your Spy into a full-on Assassin’s Creed cosplayer, the option’s certainly there.

1 The Ap-Sap

The Ap-Sap is the only weapon in the game that talks! Inspired by Portal 2, It is a flattened-out Wheatly sapper voiced by the same voice actor – Stephen Merchant himself. With 13 full minutes’ worth of dialogue, you’ll never feel alone when doing undercover Spy duties with the Ap-Sap. The Ap-Sap has specific voice lines for when you pull him out, disguise, sap a building, get shot at, put him back, and even die. It is a talkative sapper that bothers you while you try to work. This reskin is a step beyond the typical physical redesign, seeing as it gives an otherwise inanimate object some much-needed personality that annoys you, like Junkrat does Roadhog in Overwatch. What’s even better is that the Ap-Sap tends to give your cover away since enemies can also hear him.
