Items are the key to success in TFT, increasing the offensive or defensive stats of the champions that equip them. Offensive items that increase attack speed and other bonuses empower hyper-carry champions. In contrast, defensive items fortify tanks and allow them to protect the backline. With over 40 different items to choose from in the Dragonlands set, players may feel overwhelmed by which items are best for their team comp. This guide will list the top best items to fit into a TFT comp, their bonuses, and what base items are needed to build them.

15 Zephyr

This item is one of the riskier ones to build, but if used effectively, Zephyr can turn the tide of any fight. It is crafted using a Giant’s Belt and a Negatron Cloak. The user gains 150 Health, as well as 20 Magic Resist.

As the round commences, Zephyr summons a whirlwind at the opposite side of the arena, removing the closest enemy champion from combat for five seconds. The banished enemy cannot be attacked by during this duration.

14 Blue Buff

The mystical Blue Buff is crafted by combing two Tears of the Goddess. At combat start, it grants the user 50 starting Mana. Of course, it cannot be equipped or placeholded onto Manaless champions.

After each spell cast by the user, the wearer’s Mana is set back to 20, meaning they can cast more ultimates during the round. Only one Blue Buff can be equipped per champion on the noard, meaning they cannot be stacked.

13 Gargoyle Stoneplate

The Gargoyle Stoneplate can be built using a Chain Vest and Negatron Cloak. For base stats, it gives the holder 20 Armor and 20 Magic Resist.

Additionally, it will then grant the user 18 bonus Armor and 18 bonus Magic Resist for each enemy targeting the user. It is a must-build item for most team comps, as it is perfect for making frontline tank champions like Shyvana, Shen, and Neeko, virtually unkillable!

12 Tactician’s Crown

The Tactician’s Crown requires 2 Spatulas to craft, which rarely appear on carousels. It doesn’t grant any additional combat bonuses. This item, unlike all the others in-game, does not need to equipped by a champion on the board to apply its effects.

Crafting the Tactician’s Crown bestows a +1 maximum team size, and is well worth making if players have spare Spatulas they do not need for class Emblems.

11 Spear of Shojin

The Spear of Shojin item requires a B.F Sword and Tear of the Goddess to make. For base statistics, it grants the holder 10 Attack Damage, and 15 starting Mana.

Any basic attacks will also restore 8 additional Mana on-attack. It’s best used on magic-wielding champions with a high attack speed or increased mana pools.

10 Quicksilver

Quicksilver is the only item that counters early-round CC, as it grants immunity to crowd control for 15 seconds, as well as any attack damage debuffs. Quicksilver is made by combining Sparring Gloves and Negatron Cloak, and each champion can only equip one of these.

This item additionally gives a 20 bonus Magic Resist, a 15% additional dodge chance and most importantly, 20% bonus attack speed, ideally used on a hyper-carry champion or an assassin.

9 Chalice Of Power

Chalice of Power can be crafted using a Tear of the Goddess and a Negatron Cloak. It grants the user 20 Magic Resist and 15 starting Mana. It is best used on support champions, like Lulu and Sona, who can buff their carry champions.

It is an aura item, and therefore grants the wearer and all allies within one hex range on the same row, left to right, an additional 30 Ability Power for the rest of combat.

8 Giant’s Slayer

Giant’s Slayer can easily be crafted by combining a Recurve Bow and a B.F Sword, giving the user a bonus 10 Attack Damage and 10% Attack Speed.

This items passive allows the user’s basic attacks and spells to gain an increased 20% damage. This powerful item becomes even more deadly against enemies with a high health pool, as this damage multiplier increases to 60% if the enemy has over 1800 Maximum Health!

7 Bloodthirster

Bloodthirster can be crafted using a Negatron Cloak and a B.F Sword, giving the wearer 10 Attack Damage and an extra 20 Magic Resist. For its passive bonus, Bloodthirster grants the user 25% omnivamp, allowing them to heal for 33% of the physical damage they deal.

This weapon has an additional passive. Once per combat, if the unit with Bloodthirster falls below 40% Health, they will gain a 30% maximum Health shield lasting up to five seconds.

6 Guinsoo’s Rageblade

Attack Speed is a strong and deadly statistic for hyper-carry champions like Swain. For its base bonuses, Guinsoo’s Rageblade gives 10 Ability Power and 10% Attack Speed. It grants the user 6% bonus attack speed, which is stackable with no upper limit. Guinsoo’s Rageblade can be made using a Needlessly Large Rod and a Recurve Bow.

Having a hyper-carry stacked with rapid Attack Speed while being well-protected by tanks is a recipe for a broken TFT team comp and worth exploiting!

5 Statikik Shiv

To make the Statikik Shiv, players will need a Recurve Bow and Tear of the Goddess, granting the wearer 20% additional Attack Speed and 15 starting Mana. This is a great item to make to gain an early-game advantage. It unleashes a chain lightning reaction every three seconds, dealing 50 magic damage and reducing enemy Magic Resist by 50%.

It often becomes redundant in late-game, but can still be used on a carry champ with rapid attack speed items.

4 Morellonomicon

Morellonomicon requires a Giant’s Belt and Needlessly Large Rod to make. When equipped, it grants magic users a bonus 10 Ability Power, and an extra 150 Health.

Any magic damage from an ability will burn the enemy target, dealing 10% of their maximum health as true damage for 10 seconds. This also reduces their healing by 50% of this duration, applying Grevious Wounds debuff. This item is excellent for AoE casters and blends into many TFT comps.

3 Warmog’s Armor

Warmog’s Armor requires two Giant’s Belts to make. It is one of the best defensive items to bolster any tank champions, like Braum, Sejuani, and Sett.

It adds 1000 bonus health, making them almost unkillable! The wearer will also regenerate 6% of their missing health per second when this item is equipped.

2 Archangel’s Staff

Archangel’s Staff is crafted by combing a Needlessly Large Rod and a Tear of the Goddess. This item grants the user 10 Ability Power right off the bat and an additional 15 starting Mana.

Every 5 seconds, Archangel’s Staff also gives magic users a bonus 25 Ability Power, allowing them to scale their Ability Power the longer the fight continues. This magical item is best used on Ryze, Anivia, and most of the Dragon champions.

1 Sunfire Cape

A must-have for any tank on the player’s roster and fits into all team comps. Like in the base game League of Legends, Sunfire Cape burns enemies and reduces their healing by 50%. It is a great item to build early to use up the defensive items, Chain Vest and Giant’s Belt.

Many early-game wins can be achieved with this item, allowing an early win-streak to rake in additional income!
