Compared to previous sets, Fates is much more vibrant and colorful. The teaser image features an open sky, tufts of cloud, and green-topped mountain peaks with bright pink trees. There are also yellow birds flying through the air, as leaves and flower petals spin around them. With set 3 being based on space, set 2 being the elements, and set 1 being a more generic faction war, Fates looks like quite the inspired evolution for Teamfight Tactics both thematically and visually.

As for how fantasy fits into the Fates theme, Riot explained in a short blog post. Fates will feature Little Legends based on small, “but very fearsome,” dragons of storm and shadow. They’ll lead armies comprised of “Divines,” “Tormented villains,” “kind Spirits,” and “dreadful Phantasms.” These are likely the names of some of Fates’ classes, with “Fortunes” and “Chosen” also being mentioned in the post.
Teamfight Tactics players can look forward to the new Fates set starting with patch 10.19, expected in around 4 weeks given the current 6-month cycle of sets. Riot Games is already teasing more reveals for Fates in the near future, encouraging fans to follow the Teamfight Tactics Twitter account for updates as they’re released. Stay tuned for more information soon.
Teamfight Tactics is available now on PC, as well as iOS and Android devices.
