Earnhardt finished the rain-shortened race in second, but his wasn’t the only team that failed inspection last weekend.
The teams of Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards and Josh Wise also got warnings for needing to go through pre-qualifying inspection more than twice Friday before passing.
If any of the four teams receive a warning at the next event in Sonoma, Calif., then they would receive a P1 penalty and be at the risk of losing practice and qualifying time, have the last choice of pit stalls, be delayed in order of inspection, or be selected for post-race inspection.
