Jennings had been battling liver cancer and was a patient at Wolfson Children’s Hospital, which confirmed to the Florida-Times Union that she passed away on Thursday. The Dreams Come True Program arranged to make her wish of going to her prom at Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens a reality with Marks, who reportedly “jumped at the chance” to be her date.

Marks brought her flowers in her hospital room, asked her to prom and drove her there in his Lamborghini. They both wore white and gold, and he gave her a tiara as a gift. Jennings’ mother Laquandra told the Times-Union at the time that Khameyea said, “this is a day to be normal, not to have to worry about needles, chemo, potassium levels. Just a day to be a teenager and enjoy the prom.”
